Day 2 - Maine

Yesterday’s statistics from the food pantry - we worked with 1,360 boxes full of food, repacked them and put them on pallets, a total of 34 pallets of food. A lot was done yesterday! That's an average of 62 boxes a person. They did an amazing job.

In last night’s debrief, there was more-than-normal sharing stuff and prayer requests from the kids about their lives. Part of the lesson was about things we have to face in our lives, and times we need to be strong and courageous. We need God to help us through it. Compared to other times I’ve spent with the kids over the past year, they are really opening up. It was really cool and a good night.

Lori introduced a game called “4 on a couch” and it was a blast. The whole group played and it was a good time.

It started off raining today and now it is beautiful – an answer to prayer.

Today one group went back to the food pantry and the other group stayed at the camp and worked on constructing porch railings for a new bath house being built for the camp.

The food pantry group today is Rick (leader), Jake, Eric, Zac, Brad, Brady, Lori (leader), Kaelyn, Elizabeth, Samantha, and Laura. They are not back yet today with a report. I'll fill you in tomorrow.

The camp group today is Andrew (leader), Mitch, Carter, Josh, Ryan, Matt, Vicki (leader), Lindsay, Lisa, Joanna, and Rachel. After working on the railings, they moved a bunch of debris piling up, such as old logs, old torn down wooden bridges, and moved them to a burn pile. They worked real hard, and got really dirty.

Tonight’s debrief will focus on God’s call to Samuel.

Tomorrow we are on break and head to Old Orchard Beach!
